The estimated fuel economy for this bigger engine is 26 mpg highway and 19 mpg city. 2019 Chevy Equinox

The 2019 Chevy Equinox is available in four trims, L, LS, LT, and Premier and three powertrains. The base model is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain which produces 170-hp and 203 lb.-ft. of torque and earns an estimated 32 mpg highway and 26 mpg city with the standard front-wheel drivetrain. A larger 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is paired with nine-speed automatic transmission to generate 252-hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque and achieves an estimated 28 mpg highway and 22 mpg city with the optional all-wheel drivetrain. The available diesel engine utilizes a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine teamed with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Equinox is capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds.
